The Big Day is Finally here

It’s here, I can’t believe it! My dear sweet Banana Pudding today is the first day of BGS for you! You have waited 6 long weeks, counting them down every week with excitement and anticipation. This past weekend your Dad and I were so proud, yet heartbroken as we walked into your classroom to meet your teachers. This is it, there can no longer be any denial on our part – you are growing up right in front of us. We had such a good time this weekend shopping for your school supplies, we felt so grown up ourselves.

This morning you were so excited, you could not wait to get dressed and out the door on your way to BGS. You even cooperated and let us take your picture in your favorite dress. The dress you love so much and told me in such a grown up way it was the one you wanted to wear on the first day of school. You looked especially beautiful this morning. Your long flowing blonde locks tickling your cheeks as they curled around your face, your eyes so bright and blue with excitement and your entire body glowing from all the nervous energy. So demure!

Big A, I love you and I am so proud of you. I hope your first day is everything you want it to be. I can’t wait to hear all about it!!

Just one more small thing – please don’t be in such a hurry to grow up. Mommy is trying so hard to give you roots and wings, but sometimes I just want to say FREEZE and time to stand still if for only a few minutes.
